Quentin Blake’s Box Of Treasures

Eagle Eye return to halo for a six-part animation series, ‘Quentin Blake’s Box of Treasures’, celebrating a selection of short stories written by Quentin Blake himself. Adapted and directed by the brilliant Massimo Fenati, this painstaking project took two years to complete using traditional watercolour-style animation drawings and over 60 voices over artists including Simon Pegg, Adrian Lester and Alison Steadman. The London Philharmonic Orchestra provided a bespoke soundtrack culminating in six truly magical films.

Halo provided full sound post production.

Director, Massimo Fenati says, “I’ve been working with Halo for a few years on a number of animation projects and they’ve always been consistently good on all levels: professional, reliable, friendly, welcoming, easy to work with and always happy to help. For my latest creative effort, Quentin Blake’s Box of Treasures for the BBC, I’ve worked with Jay and Gerrit in the sound department and I can only say good things about them. Their sound design and final mix really made the films come together, also making the most of the BBC Philharmonic recording of our bespoke soundtrack: it was vital to highlight and enhance that, whilst giving the right prominence to the voice overs and making sure every small sound effect could be heard, resulting in a perfectly balanced symphony of music, voices and foley.
