”Although the film is primarily dialogue-driven, the music is, in many ways, the star of the show – added to which Chris Cottam (Director) was a fountain of ideas about how to sonically heighten the comedy moments. Jay Price and he worked closely and came up with some great ‘laugh out loud’ moments. Guy Chamber’s music came in two distinct flavours; songs that are performed by the cast – who range from an extreme metal band to a manufactured boy band – and a rich supporting musical score that underpinned the huge emotional swings of the film. The key to the success of this soundtrack is the sheer detail (and humour) of the sound editorial, the light and shade in the mix that helps underpin the emotional arc of the film – and the big musical moments, funny, painful and uplifting in equal measure.”
