The new documentary ‘Rooted in the West Bank’ follows the lives of Atta and Rudina Jaber and their family over more than twenty years.
The film was made by the multi-award-winning documentary filmmaker Bruno Sorrentino of Palio Films and Israeli director and producer Uri Fruchtmann. They first met the Jabers in 1999 when he made the film ‘Reservoir Raiders’ which depicts how Israel controls who has access to natural resources which is as much a feature of Israeli apartheid against Palestinians as bullets and bombs.
Over the last year, Bruno and Uri returned to the West Bank several times to collect more material for this new documentary featuring the Jaber family.
Halo provided Final Picture and Sound Post Production.
Director Bruno Sorrentino said “A huge round of applause for the entire team at Halo post for a job well done. I was impressed by the speedy, no fuss bringing together of such a big variety of materials and formats.”
The picture and sound departments were a joy to engage with, with impressive work in the grading/online (Mark & Ian) and audio editing & mixing (Alastair & Dave). And a big thank you to Jay Makwana and Abby Carter for coordinating – you made our job easy!”
